About us

Founded in February, 2002 as Keith D. Clay Land Surveying, the company began by offering only sub-contract services to local surveying firms.

On January 1, 2005 Keith D. Clay Land Surveying incorporated under the name Reliable Land Surveying, Inc. and began offering a comprehensive range of land surveying services to the public.

Our President

Keith D. Clay, president, has been employed in land surveying in the Lee County area since 1986. He obtained licensure as a Surveyor & Mapper in the State of Florida on July 1, 2001.

Through these many years of work in the Lee County area, Keith has obtained invaluable knowledge of the history of surveying, the surveyors and their practices. This “local knowledge” really helps us to complete projects in a timely and, therefore, a cost effective manner.


Reliable Land Surveying, Inc. offers a wide range of services including collection of field data, drafting, control networks, construction staking, and RTK GPS services. Please contact us with any questions or for a specific need not addressed here.

Residential Construction

We offer a full range of services for residential construction to meet the client’s needs from site preparation through completion of the project.

  • Boundary & Topographic Survey: A boundary survey used to obtain permitting for residential construction.
  • Building Stakeout (Hub & Tack): Points set at the corners of the building and/or surrounding envelope to aid the contractor in locating the structure(s) on the property.
  • Foundation Location (Slab/Spot Survey): Locating the physical improvement in relation to the property boundaries.
  • Final Survey: Location of all completed physical improvements constructed on the property.

Boundary/Mortgage Surveys

A survey to determine the location of property lines and the improvements in relation to those lines. Often required when obtaining a mortgage.

Elevation Certificates

Collection of the required data and completion of FEMA form usually required to obtain flood insurance..
